Happy Halloween 2010

Shayla - Pippi Longstockings
Cloudy - Ewok
Ben - Raving Rabbid

Cloudy didn't like the Raving Rabbid idea - so I fell back on the original Star Wars costume. He looks pretty cute too!

Costume Contest

We made our annual trip to the high school for the city's trick or treating. Ben scored big with the teenagers - they ALL loved his costume. He did ok with the judges too, he won top prize for the 2nd year. (Still makes me mad Bowser didn't win).

Some critter (presumably a dog) ate the face off Ben's pumpkin. It just happened to be sitting next to mine.. and I thought that was pretty funny.

Yesterday while supper was on the stove, I hear Cloudy standing behind me whoofing. I turn to see him facing the stove whoofing his little heart out at the steam coming from the pan on the stove. It made me giggle just a bit. He likes to whoof anything that is hot.

This morning he mastered the art of feeding the girls food from his highchair. Not really happy about this - but at least he stopped trying to feed me his leftovers (blek). When he got down he thought it would be fun to play with them, so he found a rawhide bone and went to give it to Tally, when she took it he SCREAMED! Honestly don't know what he expected to happen. Tally just looked at me like - I didn't do it..and she walked away.

Deedle deedle

I made Cloudy a raving rabbid costume, like ben's, but I'm pretty sure
he will not be wearing the hat. He hates it. He loves to do the
rabbid scream with ben, just without the head on.

He's still keepin us guessing with his language. He will occasionally
say a recongnizable word in the appropriate usage. But most of the
time he walks around saying "deedle deedle" while pointing and looking
at us like we are idiots for not understanding. The bad part is - we
all make fun Iof deedle deedle by repeating it, solidifying it's

Relax? Whats that..

Monday we returned home from Arkansas. Tuesday Pete was ill, and I was attacking Mt Laundry, that night Ben had a last minute Halloween costume change for us. For the next 3 nights we paper mached, over and over again (and painted, and sewed, and glued). Friday Ben came home from school with his FIRST EVER report card; of course it's Kindergarten and all they give are "Satisfactory"s, but it was still exciting for us. I put the finishing touches on the 'helmet' for Ben's costume, and loaded up the camper so we could go camping this weekend.
The Kendall's brought their bounce house.. and I found it a little humorous to have this set up next to our campers - and the TV! outside playing football.. Camping? HA!

Sunday we got home, did a test run on the costume at the local shopping centers celebration. 50% of the people said "wow great costume", but only 10% really knew he was a Raving Rabbid (guess not everyone plays Wii - STRANGE WORLD).

We came home and carved our jack-o-lanterns; Ben designed and carved his all on his own!

Below are more pictures.

We had a really great time at Beaver Lake!
Below are some pictures of our trip.

On the trip home Ben tells me "I know how to spell Disney... D-V-D" bwahahaha
It was pretty funny.. at the time..

Day 2 camping in Arkansas

We saw some fun things and some ones we purchased last time still
around. Ben and Cloudy, and a few Other boys, are going to have some
pretty cool gifts this yr!

Ben was given this rubberband pistol for being so good today! It's
FUN. But rules have been set and dad won't let us shoot it at anyone.
(fun hater)

I saw this cute reindeer fence ornament... And when we arrived back to
camp we saw 4 real deer grazing right up at the road.

Camping in Arkansas

@ beaver lake
The water is great. Couldn't keep cloudy out. He jumped in fully
clothed. And then when we undressed him, he refused to wait for us -
headed straight for the drink and started floating. That kid is
QUICK! And loves water.

Ben helped me in my obsession to pick up a billion walnuts. I don't
know why, I just know that once I started I couldn't stop.

We saw a couple of crawfish the size of lobsters - biggest crawfish
I've ever seen!

Made an apple cobbler in the Dutch oven on the campfire. YUM

Who needs expensive toys

Oh that boy - makes me crazy!

Funny true story - last night Ben read his book to us and when he was
finised signed off with the customary "the end" to which Cloudy stood
up gave his daddy kisses and walked his little butt to his room. Do
you think we have a little routine??
