Zoo Spooktacular

Today we headed out to the Henry Doorly Zoo to attend the Zoo "Spooktacular". This is an overcrowded event where parents take their kids for Candy begging.. The lines to get candy are sooo long, that it's really not worth it. We skipped most of the lines, and enjoyed the actual zoo (especially the desert and aquarium) instead of the candy...
Ben's costume was a huge hit. EVERYONE was pointing and talking about him. We were totally shocked! Several people stopped to ask if they could take their picture with Ben. It's as if people didn't realize it is possible to make your own costume. You wouldn't believe the number of people who asked, "How did you do that?" Or "Where did you get that idea?"

Ben had to take his "mask" off in order to eat some of the candy, and so he could look around well enough to get a good look at the animals. When we got to the lions, he told me, "Dad, help me put the head back on, cause I want the lion to see my whole costume!"

Cloudy really doesn't like his picture taken.

ha!! funny pic of Sam...Ben's costume rocks!! I know what you mean about homemade costumes. Don't people know about the internet?? geezz.. We'll actually be home this year for the candy beggars. You hardly ever see homemade costumes anymore - hopefully we'll see some this year.

Tuba, or not tuba ... that is the question said...

Great costume!!

People also don't realize you can actually bake and decorate birthday cakes.
